Each child decorated their own
personalized apron to wear each week in the kitchen.
The Garden of Eden and the
Forbidden Fruit helped the children learn that temptation can lead us away from
God and the person God wants us to be. Here the children get ready to eat the candy apples
that they made.
It’s surprising that salt is one
of the ingredients in ice cream.
Salt makes lots of food taste better. So, as the children made their own ice cream they learned
that Jesus said that he wants us to be the salt of the earth. Just as salt can make food better we
can make life better for others and ourselves with our deeds of loving
kindness.
Jesus told the Parable of the Vineyard to help us understand that
jealousy isn’t good for us. We
need to rejoice and be happy when good things happen to others. After the Children’s Message, the
children went up to Fellowship Hall to make homemade jelly.
The Parable of The Mustard
Seed: God takes a little seed and
makes a giant tree out of it. In
the same way God takes our little deeds of love and make wonderful things out
of them. Here
the children plant mustard seeds and get ready to make some homemade mustard
which they then sampled of pretzels and hot dogs.
